The essentials
- Broken-in walking shoes (never new ones!)
- Technical walking socks (at least 2 pairs per day)
- Blister plasters & sports tape
- Sunscreen & cap
- Compact rain poncho
- Enough water & snacks
- Change of clothes for after the finish
The most underrated item: recovery sandals
After 40+ km, the last thing your feet want is to stay in walking shoes. VELOUS sandals give your feet the space to breathe and recover — so you can start the next day feeling fresh again.
What NOT to bring
- New shoes (never wear untested footwear at an event)
- A heavy backpack (keep it under 10% of your body weight)
- Cotton clothing
